Botany

Eucalyptus is a tree. The dried leaves and oil are used to make medicine. People use eucalyptus for many conditions including asthma & bronchitis. The Eucalyptus tree is our most favourite Australian native tree, it grows in every state in the country. Eucalyptus is on of the most effective smudging herbs, it clears unwanted negative energies.

Sheoak is a medium-sized tree up to 15 m tall and 0.5 to 1 m in diameter at breast height. It occurs in south-west Western Australia in the coastal and hinterland region from Perth in the north to near Albany in the east. This tree is often mistaken for pine trees. Sheoak has powers of cleansing, spiritual connections and healing.

Tea Tree leaves come from the Melaleuca alternifolia plant, found in Australia. Rich in history as Indigenous Australians have been using the leaves for hundreds of years. Widely used in Indigenous bush medicine. Tea Tree is known for its healing and cleansing properties.

Directions

Smudging is a ritual that has been used for centuries by the native Americans.The smudging will purify and remove negativity and illwill from your environment. Make sure you leave a door open for the negativity to leave through. Wave the smoke into all corners, across doorways and into shadow spaces. To maintain the atmosphere of ritual, keep repeating the incantation in your mind as you diffuse the smoke.Use your heat proof shell to catch embers. Once the space is cleared, allow the sage stick to either burn out or gently press it out in your heat-proof shell to extinguish. Never leave burning smudge stick unattended. Do not extinguish with water. You can smudge your car, home or office.
